A wonderful beginning. Nothing serious went wrong all day. I almost have the luggage-loading down to an art, tomorrow it should be perfected. I'm getting 38 MPG, not great, but I did have it idling a lot. Maybe I'll get another full tuneup in Illinois. Newport is beautiful. I might spend tomorrow here and skip New Haven, or visit Chaim (in NY) later in the week.

Another guest at the hostel was on the BU bike team with me. Small world.
